With all the pokemon hype beginning to crawl over the forum (such as the pokemon game), I think there's a series that's being neglected! Digimon! To be honest, I think Digimon is one of the very few anime that sounded good even after dubbed. I only watched season one, so really don't know about the other ones. I loved how the story was so innocent, naive, and touching all jumbled up together.
I think it's in a whole different league from pokemon and is not just one of those "monster anime". Yes, Bandai is a greedy franchise in terms of marketing, but I think it didn't do too much slaughtering with Digimon Season one. At least not as much as Nintendo did with Pokemon.

I used to love that show. It was weird as hell, but most anime are like that anyways, lol.. I watched the first and second season and I thought they were good, with the 3rd being ok... and the 4rth... well, I never really bothered after season 3. I guess my "phase" for it was over

Remember the villians for the Dark Masters arc? man, those guys were cool. I loved the design for most of the characters, good guys and bad.. the weirder, the better

y'know, the reason why even remembered that arc at all was because I found an old tape with some digimon recordings on it. Looking back at that, the way they killed Piedmon, I thought, was pretty anticlimactic. As cool as Piedmon was, they really should have given him a better death scene than fall into what looked like a floating stargate (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stargate) and then just... die.
Otherwise, Myotismon was awesome too. He actually comes back in season 2, being the puppetmaster type villain that time around.

3rd season was so terrible. and 4th season the Human's merge into digimon with this whole power rangers thing.
